Premiere of ‘The Handmade Seller’ musical

The ‘Arshin Mal Alan’ operetta by Azerbaijani composer Uzeyir Hajibeyov was presented in the Oskemen Theater. The musical, well known in Europe as the "The Handmade Seller", was staged in 187 theaters around the world. According to the directors, the new interpretation of the play about the merchant, who decided to marry for love, will take a worthy place in the repertoire of the Kazakh youth theater. The director was specially invited from Georgia.

GOCHA KHVICHIA, THEATER DIRECTOR:

- We have very little time to prepare. The young troupe is always able to work and we arrived and began to rehearse immediately. We had 10-12 hours of rehearsals in one the day. Then exactly one month later we staged the performance. All the crew members had time: both to rehearse techniques and actors had time to prepare.

AIDOS NURMAGAMBETOV, ACTOR:

 - The musical is one of the most complex genres. In addition, the comedy is closely interwoven which is also a very complex genre. We all tried very hard to prepare a performance within a month. This is a great achievement for a theater company.
