Theater goers of Astana have already seen his production of the ‘Pagans.’ The new play will premiere at the end of April and will mark the 20th anniversary of Astana and 150th birth anniversary of the great Russian writer, Maxim Gorky.

JONAS VAITKUS, LITHUANIAN THEATER DIRECTOR:

 - The play’s peculiarity is that it's a classic and it has a family theme. It was written in 1908, but all the problems of that time described by Gorky exist even today. Since I'm here for the second time, it's easier and harder at the same time, because I do not want to repeat myself. I also want find new qualities and edge in the actors’ performance. This is why I’m doing an interesting job.
