Babalar Amanaty is an instruction of ancestors. Under this name the capital hosted a concert of traditional music of the Korkyt ensemble of the State Academic Philharmonic Society of the Astana’s mayor’s office. The team aims to popularize the traditional Kazakh music. This evening the guests can enjoy the unique sound of almost entire folk instruments like kyl-kobyz, dombra, syrnai, zhetygen and others.

MAKSAT MADYKARIMOV, SOLOIST, KORKYT ENSEMBLE:

- We revive the forgotten stuff about our ancestors in our music with the help of our ensemble. We will perform works of a national genre, Kurmangazy’s masterpieces and Sholpan Korganbekova’s works.

The uniqueness of the Korkyt ensemble lies in the fact that every musician plays several instruments. This versatility allows to perform works by any composition. Artists also possess a rare technique of throat singing. All the genres of Kazakh folklore like kui, terme and zhyr form a basis of a group's repertoire in the authorship’s adaptation. Thanks to a modern arrangement, folk music is reflected in a new way.

EDIL KHUSAINOV, COMPOSER, WORKER OF CULTURE OF KAZAKHSTAN:

- This concert is held as part of EXPO 2017. I think that it will be very interesting for guests of our capital and for residents of entire Kazakhstan. In addition, many foreign guests have come who will get acquainted with the folklore of the Kazakh people.

The Shalkyma Folk Dance Ensemble and soloists of the Philharmony attended the concert, too.
