The unique Yrgyzbai auliye mausoleum in Eastern Kazakhstan will be preserved for descendants. Scientists will continue to study the memorial complex which was built in the early 19th century. Through the support of local authorities, the scientists will develop a map of the memorial’s restoration. These sacred places still haven’t lost their special power. Many travelers flew to this place in order to be cured by a legendary healer of the Kazakh steppe, Yrgyzbai, who once lived here many centuries ago.

BOLAT TAGABAI, DIRECTOR OF YRGYZBAI AULIYE COMPLEX:

- A patient’s religious affinity didn’t matter. People came from all over the world. Russian, Germans and Chinese were coming to visit the healer.

Bolat Tagabai has been keeping secrets of Yrgyzbai for 16 years. He updates a collection of a library of the museum complex. The rare exhibits, stones and objects of everyday life of nomads were brought from ancient sites like Otyrar and Sauran.

ELDAR ABDIKARIMOV, TOURIST:

- I’ve come here for the first time. Every year we pass through this site, but only today I have been lucky to learn these precious things to us, to the Kazakh people. First of all, the museum is of interest to me. I really like this place and it has very interesting relics.

According to the modernization of public consciousness program, the roads to memorial will be built, electricity will be provided, and a parking zone will be created in a neighborhood. Most importantly, the scientists will find new artifacts related to the name of Yyrgyzbai.

ANAR MYRZAGALIYEVA, PROFESSOR, DEPUTY OF RECTOR FOR SCIENTIFIC RESERACH AT EAST KAZAKHSTAN STATE UNIVERSITY:

- Legends about sacred places will be assembled which means the scientists will conduct research among the population, particularly, among the aksakals. Legends associated with these holy places will be collected.

In total, more than 20 historical monuments of Eastern Kazakhstan will enter the republican map of sacred places. Facilities of spiritual and cultural heritage will receive passports and will be entered into the electronic base of the country’s main tourist routes.
