The books describe the territory of modern Kazakhstan, for instance, the Petropavl city’s lifestyle in 1870’s. Diplomats also visited the exhibition of the National Center of Manuscripts and Rare Books where approximately 500 exclusive publications and manuscripts of 18th and19th centuries were showcased. These publication and manuscripts have the high historical and cultural significance as well as the scientific value. For example, the exposition includes ancient studies in Eastern languages as well as miniature books.

– I actively follow the country’s literary life. Of course, I’m glad that literature and writing has been greatly emphasized this year. The opening of this center is an important initiative and I think it is efficient. I think the center will play a very important role in the cultural activities of the country and especially, in the literary heritage.

As a Swedish Ambassador to Kazakhstan highlighted, currently Kazakhstan and Sweden are negotiating on cooperation of libraries and archives on search and collection of written monuments.
