Kazakhstan and Iran are marking the 25th anniversary of diplomatic relations. Araz music and dance ensemble performed in Astana as part of bilateral cultural cooperation.

 

The ensemble’s repertoire includes national dances - Iranian and Azerbaijani, Turkmen, Dagestani, Kurdish, as well as traditional music and songs. The works of Oriental poets and original folk songs won the hearts of the metropolitan audience. The concert featured compositions performed on ancient Perisan musical instruments. "Araz" ensemble performed the popularly loved song "Kozimnin Karasy" by Abai.

 

MUHAMMAD MOHAMMADI, SOLOIST, ARAZ ENSEMBLE:

- Our ensemble Araz was found more than 20 years ago. Since then, we have been touring throughout the world. It is our first time in Kazakhstan. Our performances let other people to learn about traditional Iranian art.

 

Araz ensemble often participates in international art festivals. The Ensemble performed in such countries as Russia, Turkey, Yemen, Armenia, Azerbaijan and Indonesia. Now Kazakh audience had a chance to learn more about Iranian art.

 

MASOUD SHEIKH ZEINEDDIN, COUNSELLOR, EMBASSY OF IRAN IN KAZAKHSTAN:

- There are many things in common between Kazakhstan and Iran in various spheres, including culture. We invited this ensemble to Kazakhstan so that Kazakh people could learn more about Iranian culture.

 

According to the representatives of the Iranian embassy in Kazakhstan, such a cultural exchange will further strengthen the bilateral ties.
