Astana hosted the sixth International Violin Competition. 40 young and talented violinists entered the competition demonstrating their skills in performing masterpieces of world classics of Bach, Paganini, Brahms, Tchaikovsky and Shostakovich. According to organizers, the main goal of the competition is to hone young participants’s skills and promote classical music.

Such competitions are organized in order to discover new talents, to help them grow. Kazakh Ministry of Culture and Sports provided scholarships for us. Now we can send the students abroad to take internships. The winner of the competition will receive this scholarship.

 

Akbike Algi is a talented Kazakh violinist. She has already won the hearts of the audience from around the world with her talent. The jury of international competitions speak highly of her talent. According to them, the young participant from Kazakhstan amazed them with her thoughtful attitude to the composition combined with the mastery of the violin and deeply emotional performance. Last year, Akbike Alga won a prize and the nomination award at the international violin competition in Astana. This year the judicial commission is very authoritative and includes the best violin luminaries from the CIS and Europe. Professional musicians believe that the competition will replenish the list of young and promising talents.   The competition which is held every two years was ended with a gala concert.
