The third World Nomad Games are well underway

The third World Nomad Games are well underway. In the first days of the festival, the Kyrgyz gorge of Kyrchyn was visited by several thousands of people. Organizers established yurts and arranged the festival of Nomadic culture. The area is filled with unique and fascinating steppe melodies together with the screams of golden eagles. This area is a place where eagle hunters train their eagles.

BAZARBEK KUNTUGANULY, SENIOR COACH FOR TRADITIONAL SPORTS, KAZAKHSTAN:

 - We arrived in Kyrgyzstan to take part in the competition and hope to demonstrate the best performance. At the Second World Nomad Games held in 2016, the Kazakh team finished third. This year, we are hoping to win the first place. It’s time for us to win.

SALAUAT AIBEKULY, KYRGYZ FALCONER :

 - I have been training the golden eagle for six years. I participated in the Second World Nomad Games with this bird. Its name is Shagylgan. We are participating this year as well.

Dogs always played a special part in the lives of the Nomadic people. They have always been the loyal companions and allies for the Nomads. Therefore, it is impossible to imagine the Nomad Games without traditional sports such as hunting with dogs.

Syrtanu is a two years old tazy dog. It is a two-time champion of the Pavlodar region in the race. Moreover, it is Kazakhstan’s champion in the open class and it came first.

Syrtanu and Tuigyn are showing good results. We also brought Khan and Alara. In total, four tazy dogs have arrived from Kazakhstan. We expect that we will win.

History shows that nomads used to push their opponents back in a worthy way. Archers were powerful. Competitions on archery clearly proved that this ancient art is still alive today. The world’s most well-directed arrows arrived in Kyrgyzstan.

NA SHUNZHIRGALA, CHINESE ARCHER:

 - I grew up in Mongolia. This is why the life of the steppe is very familiar to me. I've been learning about my ancestors for nearly 10 years. I was very impressed by the beautiful nature and rich traditions of the Kyrgyz land.

TSAGAN KOKSHOVA, ARCHER FROM RUSSIA, KALMYKIA:

 - The steppe people have been engaged in archery since ancient times. Today, the archery is being resurrected in Kalmykia and we pay great attention to it. Now there are male and female archers.

National games of nomads will last until September 8 in Kyrgyzstan’s Kyrchyn tract.
