Kyrgyzstan is increasing the investment attractiveness of its regions
Over US$70 million has been attracted to the Osh city since the beginning of the year. The investment was used for the launch of several new manufacturing facilities, including a garment factory. The main product of the factory is national clothes. More than 30, 000 jackets and coats are planned to be sewed in a year.
The factory is fully automated. All the work is being done by smart techniques. Machines in the factory can create any patterns on the fabric. Up to 24 national ornaments are embroidered in one hour.
KYYALBEK SATAROV, STAFF, GARMENT FACTORY:
- Designers create the patterns. Then they are inserted in the computer memory. A person finds a desired pattern, clicks on it and that's it.
MIRGUL KEDEYEVA, STAFF, GARMENT FACTORY:
- This machine makes eight lines at the same time. Previously, seamstresses had to sew each separately. Earlier it took two hours to sew one cut but now it takes only 20 minutes. Obviously, the quality has improved.
The company has expansion plans. Currently, the management is purchasing additional modern technological equipment.
GULMIRA DUBANAYEVA, ENTERPRISE LAWYER:
- We have received the first tranche of the nine million loans from the Russian-Kyrgyz Development Fund. We have acquired the necessary equipment for the expansion of production. We are expecting the second tranche of the fund to purchase additonal equipment.
The investment project does not only include the garment factory. This year, 10 new industrial plants will also be opened in Osh.
ZAMIR YUSUPOV, SPOKESPERSON, OSH MAYOR’S OFFICE IN KYRGYZSTAN:
- Four enterprises have been opened, such as the garment and construction factories. We closely work with the Kyrgyz-Russian Development Fund as well as with an agency for investment attraction.
Analysts say that the launch of new facilities will positively affect not only the economy of the city but also the whole country. In the near future, local products will be exported.
