Kyrgyzstan: Mountain tourism gains popularity
There is a growing demand for mountain tourism in the world. This type of activity occupies 15-20% of the world tourist market and receives income from US$70 to 90 billion a year. According to the UN statistics, in 1950s, 25 million people were involved in this sector and the number increased to 842 million in 2010. Tourism is one of the priority areas of Kyrgyzstan’s economy.
The most popular type of tourism in this country is traditionally considered the mountain tourism. There are great opportunities available in this area for the Central Asian country.
5,000 tourists from 18 different countries are ready to overcome many kilometers to be at the foot of mountain glaciers, rivers and huge snowy fields of Kyrgyzstan.
