Tajikistan has started exporting electricity to Uzbekistan. According to CA-News, the Central Asian news service, the power supply line is introduced from the Regar power station to the Gulcha station. The total amount of electricity exports to Uzbekistan will make up at least 1.5 billion kilowatt hours a year. Previously, Tajik and Uzbek officials agreed on the prices of electric power supply from Tajikistan to Uzbekistan.

Uzbek and Afghan experts are expanding cooperation in IT sector. According to Gazeta.uz website, officials of the two countries signed a memorandum of understanding on strategic cooperation. The parties discussed ways of establishing high-speed communication channels between the countries, increasing international telephone traffic between the providers’ networks of the two countries, providing high-speed Internet access to the populations and organizing staff training. As part of the memorandum, Afghan students may undergo training in the universities of Tashkent.

Uzbekistan’s tourist potential was presented at the “Las Fallas” festival in the Spanish city of Valencia. Kultura.uz news website reports that Uzbek diplomats organized the event titled “Samarkand is the Silk Road’s Greatness and Beauty.” According to the President of the UNESCO’s Silk Road online platform and the member of the Spanish Congress Jose Maria Chiquillo, “Uzbekistan and its historic cities have a special place in the UNESCO World Heritage List.” In his opinion, Uzbekistan’s presentation was very successful for promoting Uzbekistan as a tourist destination.

A photo exhibition “Between the sky and the Issyk-Kul lake: 100 views on Kyrgyzstan” has opened in Moscow. According to Knews news agency, the exposition consists of 100 photographs depicting the beauty of Kyrgyzstan’s nature, pide of the Central Asian region. The beautiful nature of Kyrgyzstan is reflected in the photographs of valleys, lakes and mountain ranges.
