Beijing hosted a discussion on ways of strengthening partnerships between Kazakhstan and China

Beijing hosted a discussion on ways of strengthening partnerships between Kazakhstan and China, particularly in industrial and innovative sectors. Kazakhstan held a special session at the 10th China Overseas Investment Fair. Potential investors were introduced to the priority economic sectors, and tax exemptions as well as the vast potential of free economic and industrial zones.

KUANYSH AMANTAI, NATIONAL COMPANY’S GENERAL AGENT IN CHINA:

 - Our purpose is to spark the interest of the Chinese investors because they are competitive on the international scale. We are planning to attract them for cooperation in Kazakhstan’s priority sectors and raise their interest in Kazakhstan’s investment projects.

The activities of the Astana International Financial Center were also presented to foreign investors. They were briefed on the legal aspects and privileges of being AIFC members. There are plenty of opportunities for the investors to cooperate on joint projects using the centre’s platform. At the meetings, the Chinese entrepreneurs also shared their success stories of doing business in Kazakhstan.

YANG JIE, DIRECTOR, CAMEL MILK PRODUCTION COMPANY:

 - This event serves as a partnership bridge between the enterprises of China and Kazakhstan. We have built a dry camel milk production factory in the Turkistan region. We are planning to launch the facility by the end of the year. The factory will provide jobs for 80 people. We are going to export the products to China.

At the moment, joint Kazakh-Chinese projects related to mineral resources, transportation and infrastructure are implemented across Kazakhstan. There are also joint Kazakh-Chinese businesses involved in agricultural and food production. Finished goods are being exported to China.
