The trade turnover between Kazakhstan and Tajikistan grew by 31.5%

The governments of Kazakhstan and Tajikistan are strengthening cooperation. The trade turnover between the countries grew 31.5%. In 2017, mutual trade reached US$776 million. For several years, Kazakhstan has been  one of Tajikistan’s main trade partner. Kazakhstan’s oil, municipal equipment, buses, passenger and freight cars are in great demand.

 - In recent years, in addition to traditional types of goods, such as wheat and liquefied gas, our country delivers value added goods like products of General Electric from Astana to Tajikistan. We have already supplied four newest locomotives of the latest generation and the contract was signed for another two. Also, Kazakhstan exports railway cars assembled in our country.

Today, the leadership of the two states intend to bring trade and economic relations to a qualitatively new level. In the long term, this will affect the cultural, scientific, educational and humanitarian cooperation between Kazakhstan and Tajikistan.

 - Tajikistan also supported the Astana Expo 2017 and Kazakhstan’s candidacy as a non-permanent member of the UN Security Council.
