Central Asian republics are increasing their export capacities
The Central Asian republics are increasing their export capacities. This is facilitated by the expansion of the transport and logistics networ including the introduction of an automobile component of the ferry complex of the Kuryk port. The "Beineu-Akzhigit-Border of Uzbekistan" highway will be connected to the reconstructed "Aktau-Beineu" road. It is planned to put into operation the road that connects the village of Karakiya with the Kuryk peninsula.
YERALY TUGZHANOV, GOVERNOR, MANGYSTAU REGION:
- In addition, at the beginning of the year we approved the construction of two large interchanges. One of them will extend from Kuryk to Zhetybai by 64 km, the second one extends to 164 km and connect Kendirli with the border of Turkmenistan. Funds have already been allocated. We stand in the first place in the republic for the transportation of goods on the roads.
Today thanks to a new automobile berth, the transit goods from Uzbekistan, Turkmenistan and Kazakhstan, are exported to the countries of Europe and the Middle East. According to experts, the successfully functioning transport system of Kazakhstan will contribute to the development of the entire Central Asian region.
TALGAT OSPANOV, DEPUTY CEO, KURYK PORT:
- Today everything is done to transport the transit cargo from China. At present, we closely cooperate with the port of Azerbaijan. Every day we exchange information. We are planning to establish cooperation with Turkmenistan and Iran. I hope that in the future we will export the goods to their destination.
By the end of the year, the volume of cargo transshipment through the Kuryk port will be increased to 2.5 million tonnes. In addition to the car ferry complex, there are two railway stations. Each of them can take 4 large liners with a capacity of 50 cars a day. Until 2020, it is planned to double the capacity of the sea harbor.
