LI HONGXING, HEAD OF CHINESE COMPANY:
- We signed 3 memorandums and one contract. In the future, we are going to establish the agro exchange with Kazakh partners. The Chinese side will be responsible for investment and financial services. The Dalian Commodity Exchange which is the world leader in the commodity exchange of agricultural products will assist in training the staff and technical support.
Kazakhstan and China signed a protocol on the necessary requirements for the horse meat export to China. Chinese representatives intend to invest in Kazakhstan’s agro-industrial complex and are ready to increase the trade turnover in agriculture.
NURLYBEK MALELOV, HEAD, KAZAGRO NATIONAL MANAGEMENT HOLDING:
- According to the agreement, based on the Astana Financial Center we will create a trading platform on the model of the Dalian Commodity Exchange. What will this give to us? This will allow our farmers to adapt to the world market. This is also beneficial for the Chinese buyers.
Kazakh farmers will benefit from the agreement, too. Now they will have a chance to sell their products in Chinese market. In the near future, 20,000 tons of wheat and 2000 tons of vegetable oil will be exported to China. In addition, from 2017 to 2024, Beijing is going to invest US$600 million into Kazakhstan’s livestock projects. Chinese businessmen plan to build the agro industrial complex in the South Kazakhstan region worth US$100 million. The high-performance wheat processing enterprise will be launched for the same amount.
