Business forum of women enterpreneurs
Kazakhstan and Turkey strengthen cooperation. Istanbul hosted a business forum of entrepreneurial women. Representatives of the Turkish Chamber of Commerce and Industry and the Atameken National Chamber of Entrepreneurs took part in the forum. The event for promoting women’s entrepreneurship is held for the first time. Kazakhstan’s Embassy in Turkey initiated the event. Kazakh Ambassador to Turkey Abzal Saparbekuly presented Kazakhstan’s investment attractiveness, the great transit-logistic and trade opportunities. Representatives of the Turkish Business Women's Association evaluated the potential of the two states in economy and expressed their readiness to share their professional experience with Kazakh colleagues.
RUHSAR PEKCAN, DEPUTY DIRECTOR, TOBB BUSINESS WOMEN’S COUNCIL:
- The Business Women's Association was established in 1997. Today, we have representative offices in 18 provinces of the country. Our goal is to teach women the basics of entrepreneurship and support business projects. We have introduced our experience in this field to colleagues from Kazakhstan and are always ready to share our knowledge.
During the meeting, the Kazakh delegation highlighted that the number of women in leadership roles in Kazakhstan is growing year by year. For example, today the number of women in the Majilis of the Parliament has reached 26 and women’s share in the civil service amounts to 55%. Entrepreneurial women also seek to improve the country’s business environment, particularly, 47% of individual entrepreneurs are women.
BAGILA BISEMBAYEVA, HEAD, ASTANA BUSINESS WOMEN’S ASSOCIATION:
- The Business Women’s Association of Kazakhstan is created based on the example of the Turkish Association. Therefore, the primary goal is a business mission which is to share our experience, to find out how the association develops and works as well as what the Turkish Business Women's Association does. Indeed, today nearly 30 female entrepreneurs from different regions of Turkey talked about their business and preferences and how they would like to cooperate with Kazakhstan. It is very interesting to us.
Kazakh and Turkish entrepreneurs claim that the meetings help not only to establish in the existing business, but also to exchange useful experience and find new tools for doing business.
