Cooperation between Kazakhstan and Iran
The Kyzylorda region is developing its export potential. The regional authorities and a group of entrepreneurs visited the two provinces of Iran, Gulistan and Mazandaran. During the trip, 8 memorandums of cooperation were signed mainly, in the agriculture. Thus, it is planned to supply meat from the Aral Sea area to Iran with a population estimated at 80 million. For this purpose, it was concluded to organize joint production in the Kyzylorda region.
MOHAMMED MERI, DIRECTOR, IRANIAN MEAT PROCESSING PLANT:
- We are building a large factory together worth 7 million euros. We start the project next month. We have already agreed with the Kyzylorda region.
This year the Kyzylorda region shipped 10,000 heads of small cattle to Iran. The new production will allow to export processed meat products.
KYRYMBEK KOSHERBAYEV, GOVERNOR OF KYZYLORDA REGION:
- Iran is ready to provide our region and the country’s other regions with fruits and vegetables. In this regard, trade and logistics centers are planned. In total, 18 projects were discussed and eight of them got the agreement on joint activities.
Kazakh entrepreneurs will supply rice to Iran. Every year Iran imports 3 million tonnes of rice. Now the Kyzylorda farmers will provide the third part of the products.
NURLAN IZDIBAYEV, ENTREPRENEUR:
- In Gulistan and Mazandaran, we have signed three memorandums on the supply of rice. We plan to send the first shipment in November and December. Accordingly, the rice production areas will be increased.
The Kazakh delegation visited several production sites in the provinces of Iran. One of them is the sturgeon breeding enterprise. The delegation outlined the prospects of joint activities.
