Kazakhstan officials announced results of the second five-year term of the Accelerated Industrial and Innovative Development program launched in 2015. In two years, some 258 projects worth 1.7 trillion tenge were launched as part of the program. One of them is the Taraz plant for gypsum plaster and dry building mixtures. It produces 120 tonnes of gypsum per day with Italian and Russian equipment.

 

MADIYAR TOKMURATOV, PLANT’S DIRECTOR GENERAL:

 - In the future, we will launch two more drying cylinders and a workshop for the production of dry building mixtures, shop for the production of paint and varnish products and mineral powder for asphalt - concrete mixtures.

 

The project is worth almost 4 billion tenge. The plant's capacity is 36,000 tonnes of building mixtures per year, with the possibility of increasing productivity to 140,000 tonnes. The products will be shipped to Astana, Shymkent and Almaty. They are also planning to arrange deliveries to Kyrgyzstan and Uzbekistan. The entire workflow has been automated.

 

TALGAT ZHUMAGULOV, STAFF:

 - Now we are observing the process of gypsum production. The output of one shift is 40-45 tonnes. The process is about to start. The fan, filter and mill will also be connected.

 

The gypsum plant is the 4th project in the region implemented in the first half of the year as part of the state program of industrial and innovative development. Eight more investment projects worth over 9 billion tenge will be launched in the Zhambyl region in the second half of the year.
