FOREIGN INVESTORS’ COUNCIL MEETS IN ASTANA
Astana hosted the 30th plenary meeting of Kazakhstan’s Foreign Investors’ Council. The participants discussed the ways of developing green energy and the investment attractiveness of Kazakhstan. The Kazakh President, Nursultan Nazarbayev opened the meeting. The head of state highlighted that the meeting had become an effective platform for discussing the issues regarding the country's economic development. The event brought together foreign and Kazakh business executives. Over three hundred delegates attended the meeting to come up with recommendations for improving the investment climate.
NURSULTAN NAZARBAYEV, PRESIDENT OF KAZAKHSTAN:
- This year marks the 19th anniversary of the Council’s formation. During this time our meetings have already become a good tradition and we have done a lot together and you helped Kazakhstan a lot in conducting reforms. Our meetings have become an important platform for discussing ways of strengthening our economy. The topic of today's meeting is new energy. The energy industry is of great importance for our country. At the same time, despite its natural resources, Kazakhstan intends to actively develop the renewables. In this regard, we are implementing the concept of transitioning to green economy. We initiated the creation of an international center of green technologies, investments and future energy which will open after the expo. We should use all our capabilities and reserves for the development of akhlj;j new energy sector.
