The Caspian Pipeline Consortium (CPC) has started receiving oil from Kazakhstan's Kashagan field. The consortium will pump about 1 million tons of Kashagan oil in 2016. In 2017, the volume of oil received from the field through the CPC system can reach 12 million tons of oil, according to the press office of the Consortium. The consortium’s spokesperson said the CPC will complete the expansion of the project in 2017 and will transport 67 million tons per year.  56 million tons of this will account for Kazakh producers and 11 million tons for Russian stakeholders.
