Ukraine has become the largest exporter of wheat in the European Union according to Deputy Head of the Ministry of Economic Development and Trade of Ukraine Natalia Mikolskaya. ‘We have already imported 1.6 million tons, which stands for 49% of total imports in the EU. According to this indicator, we are ahead of the United States, Canada and Russia all together’ wrote Mikolskaya on her Facebook page. The Deputy Head of the Ministry also noted that Ukrainian exporters have already accomplished the annual quota for duty-free export of wheat to the European Union (about 950 million tons), within the framework of a bilateral free trade area, but will continue to deliver these products to the European countries.
