From January to July of this year, Chinese investors have invested a total of approximately $103 billion in 5465 companies in 156 countries. Investment growth reached 62 percent compared to the same period last year. According to the Ministry of Commerce, in July, China's direct investment abroad amounted to $13.8 billion with a drop of 9.5 percent against the June figure. Mergers and acquisitions have become the main forms of foreign direct investment in China. There has been a rapid increase in the volume of investments in the U.S., Germany and Australia. Their growth rate amounted to 210, 200.5 and 74 percent, respectively.
