Construction of Turgusun hydroelectric power plant in the East Kazakhstan region will cost 5 billion tenge for the Development Bank of Kazakhstan. After putting the project into operation the bank can support the construction of the cascade of mini-hydroelectric power station on the Turgusun River in East Kazakhstan region. This was announced in Astana by the chief of the Development Bank of Kazakhstan Bolat Zhamishev, reports business information center Kapital.kz. The aim of the project is the construction of a small hydropower plant with capacity of 25 megawatts, and the subsequent operation to generate electricity in the amount of 79.8 million kilowatt hours per year. Construction and commissioning of Turgusun hydroelectric power station will be important both for Zyryanovsk district of the East Kazakhstan region and for the entire region as a whole. It will reduce the electricity deficit in the region up to 62 million kilowatt-hours a year, to reduce carbon dioxide emissions by 680 tons per year. Infrastructure facilities created for the construction and operation of hydroelectric power stations will improve transport and informational provision of the region.
