As part of the ongoing tax amnesty campaign, Kazakhstanis between September 1, 2014 and July 18, 2016 opened 2,145 bank accounts, declaring more than 1,205 trillion tenge, reports the press office of the National Bank of Kazakhstan. According to the regulator, Almaty still leads with 1,109 accounts worth 1.23 trillion tenge. Astana follows with 228 accounts worth 87.6 billion tenge.

 

The two account for 92% of the total amount of the declared funds within tax amnesty.
