Voting for Brexit in the referendum will cost United Kingdom $338 billion due to losses in mergers and acquisitions by 2020. Baker & McKenzie has presented a new forecast on Brexit impact on the M&A market. According to them, everything on this market depends on investors’ confidence and trust. Nevertheless, this is a negative outlook, which suggests a growing populism in continental Europe and disruption of the EU’s support among the other members. According to Business Insider, main forecast assumes losses from the decrease in activity in the sector of mergers and acquisitions at the level of $239 billion. Only in 2017, the volume of transactions is expected to fall to 33%.
