The volume of crude oil production fell by 2.8% year-on-year to 27.7 million tons in 5 months. In May, crude oil production reached 2.7 trillion tenge against 2.3 trillion in the same period a year earlier, thus gaining 13.9% over the same period last year, media reports. For comparison, these figures fell by 43.8% in the first 5 months of 2015 than a year earlier. At the same time, despite the leveling dynamics and the volume expansion trend, the sector grows more slowly than the mining industry as a whole, where the annual growth amounted to 16.4% in monetary terms. As a result, the share of oil in the mining industry amounted to 76.9% in January-May.
