According to finprom.kz, for the first five months of 2016 second-tier banks of Kazakhstan attracted a record amount of corporate funds in tenge deposits totaling 14.6 trillion tenge. Previous record was recorded in 2014 when devaluation expectations were pretty weak and business activity growth was positive. The amount of inflows in foreign currency deposits of legal entities was significantly lower in January – May 2016, and reached 4.6 trillion tenge.
