“Oner Place” exhibition dedicated to the 20th anniversary of Astana is held in Almaty

The unique “Oner Place” exhibition dedicated to the 20th anniversary of Astana is held in the National Library in Almaty. There is an augmented reality display, which is used for the first time at exhibitions in Kazakhstan.

KRISTINA BEKMURZAYEVA, HEAD, YOUNG ARTISTS’ CENTER:

 - The exhibition is very different, the same as our multifaceted Astana. The exposition resembles the city as there is an imitation of city streets and some popular areas. The exhibition relates to people, to the emotional component of the city and underground culture.

Artists from different schools created the images of Astana. Classical painting is mixed with graffiti. 16 art objects convey interesting stories. With the help of an app, the art objects come to life and communicate with visitors.

ALMAS NURGOZHAYEV, ARTIST:

 - The works presented here are all based on serial art work. If you use your smartphone on a picture, its artwork will come to life. I think creative spaces such as this unite the creative people. And I have noticed that there are a lot of young people here, either among visitors or artists. The youth is the future of the country.

Through various stylistic art concepts, the artists managed to portray their vision of the capital, Astana. Their works will be available at the library until September 28.
