Kazakh youth studying in Prague congratulated Astana on its 20th anniversary. Students of Czech universities organized a concert in honor of the historical event. There are about 2000 Kazakhstan citizens studying in Czech Republic at the moment.

MARZHAN ADIL, STUDENT, UNIVERSITY OF FINANCE AND ADMINISTRATION IN CZECH REPUBLIC:

 - Today we all gathered in our embassy, let’s say, at our home, in honor of the Astana’s birthday. I was performing "Yerke Sylkym". When I play dombra, I feel the familial warmth, especially in such a native place... in a foreign country.

According to the Ministry of Education of the Czech Republic, the number of Kazakhstani students has increased almost 70 times within 17 years. The Kazakh students study courses such as international law, management, economics and medicine. The basic advantage is free education in public universities in Czech language. The cost of English educational programs in the country is regarded as one of the lowest in Europe.

DAULET TUIMEBAI, STUDENT, CENTRAL BOHEMIA UNIVERSITY IN CZECH REPUBLIC:

 - We have congratulated each other, listened to dombra music and just talked in our native language…we have many things in common. We try to keep in touch with each other, with the embassy. My congratulations on the capital’s anniversary, my dear Kazakhstan! I wish you a lot of development and prosperity!

The students said that every year, there is an increase of awareness on Astana in foreign countries. The indirect advertising of the city is due to the Kazakh youths studying abroad. They are the locomotive of new ideas and they form a positive image of Kazakhstan in the world.
