She made her debut in the Youth Editorial Office of Kazakh Television as the author and presenter of the Hello Alma-Ata musical contest. Her major is philology and journalism which she both studied in Moscow and Almaty.
She had worked for Kazakhstan 1 channel; in 1995 she became an editor-in-chief and later a chief producer on Channel 31. Today, Zhanna Akhmetova works for Kazakh TV and sees this as her best decision, because "there is a good corporate spirit, creative management and the possibility of creative growth."
She feels great pride in her many awards, such as Outstanding Student of TV, Altyn Zhuldyz, Altyn Samruk, Distinguished Journalist, Academic of Journalism title, as well as numerous victories on television competitions of the Commonwealth countries.
One of her main passions in life is art, cinema, literature and fashion. Television has been the most remarkable thing in her professional career. Through work, she has met clever and talented people such as Chingiz Aitmatov, Federico Mayor (Director General of UNESCO), Dr. Mahathir (Malaysia), Suleyman Demirel (Turkey), Hans-Dietrich Genscher (Germany), Amangeldy Tuleev, Nagashybay Shaykenov, Altynay Asylmuratova, Evgeniy Evtushenko, Gaukhar Murzabekova and many others.
Her dream is to write a story about television. It will describe the most positive and negative characteristics of human nature. She believes that envy and stupidity - the worst of all evils, and the best is kindness and humanity.
