We translated our great poets’ and writers’ works into Azerbaijan language and printed them in Latin script. Then we spread the editions to all schools and universities. Therefore we moved to the Latin script faster. I think Kazakhstan will also move to it faster. The transition to the Latin alphabet will strengthen economic, political and cultural cooperation with countries of far abroad. Representatives of the Institute of Diplomacy of the State Administration Academy and the National Anti-Corruption Bureau spoke about this at the conference. As the speakers emphasized, the transition of the Kazakh alphabet to the Latin script will have a positive effect on Kazakhstan’s development. KUANYSH MYRZAGALIYEV, HEAD, DEPARTMENT OF NATIONAL BUREAU ON CORRUPTION: - Every citizen of Kazakhstan should respect the state language. Society is discussing the transition to the Latin script. In my opinion, this step will give a huge impetus to development of the state language. A number of the Zhambyl region students and schoolchildren made an appeal in support of the transition to the Latin alphabet. According to activists, the Latin script will become a basis of a spiritual revival of Kazakh nation. The new script will allow to present the language and history, national values and culture, achievements of science and education in the world space. SAGI ALTYNKOP, STUDENT: - The transition to the Latin alphabet will make a significant contribution to development of modern science and technology. The Latin script will open new horizons. For example, we will be able to publish the country’s news overseas. First, it is necessary to take into account experts’ and scientists’ opinion and then to modernize the language.
